Jarvis debut
Scored (how many for us in the Prem-5?) and played really well. Lets see, maybe ifhe knows he'll be a regular and he has some faith he'll rosper again.

I believe It was 10M
Martin Allen was on goals on Sunday towards the end of season on we bought him as gillingham were just about to be promoted they asked what the deciding factor was to put them on such a good run and he said that they'd had a 20% selling clause in Jarvis and he's got 2M and thechaimenhad said he could spend it all

What were the add on's? If we only paid 7 mill for him and have not achieved those add on's then that softens the blow some what. Assuming he does well at Norwich and they want to keep him, I'd be very happy if we could get around 5m for him.

Re: Jarvis debut
I love the way for those who want to be negative about him put his transfer fee up and up. It was nothing like 10 or 11m. It was nearly 7m with add-ons which are unlikely to have been met.

7m in football is nothing these days so I can't understand why there are a load of people who get all precious over the money spent on him.

He is a good pro, hasn't complained about his lack of playing time and has been played in a role he has proved he wasn't suited to.
He isn't a winger, he isn't a wing back who gets forward and back and can tackle. He is at his best with less responsibility and getting in the positions like he did for Wolves. PL players though have to be able to attack and defend these days.

I actually thought he wasn't that bad in preseason compared to others. Norwich could be a good loan move for him.

Needs to be a big fish in a small pond. We are too big for him.

Horrendously affected by a lack of confidence. A start and a clean slate gives him the freedom to play without fear. It's no surprise. I was genuinely more excited about this deal than any of the four we brought in on deadline day.

Those who are saying it proves he had a lack of effort when he played with us, I'm sorry but you're completely wrong. But we're all wired differently, its not your fault.

Re: Jarvis debut
Was fucked under Allardyce because he can't cross and I do not believe he was ever an out and out wing man in the way fatso wanted to use him, agree with the bottle job accusations to a degree, wish him well though and hope he has a good season so we can recoup some of that £10m we blew.

'short odds we didn't lose out much'??

The transfer fee alone was around £11m! I'd say we lost out quite a lot.

"A good risk."?
I hate slagging off our players but Jarvis as a bad buy.

Re: Jarvis debut
A good risk with his attached attributes but ultimately not quite the grade, a worthwhile gamble short odds we didn't lose out much.

Good player with a good attitude.

Not a top class player though. He lacks real class and his crossing is so predictable and un-dangerous.

Re: Jarvis debut
I think he is summed up by what he did as the game at Arsenal went into stoppage time.

As an Arsenal attack broke down on the edge of our area, one of our defenders played the ball out to him on the halfway line. He has one covering defender to beat, and then he's away towards goal.
Instead of attempting to do this, as a pacy winger is want to do, he passes the ball back.

Jarvis - Hopeliss.

Definately a better player than we've seen in a West Ham shirt. Good luck to him there, I hope he secures himself a good club and future.
